Christopher Peter Meloni (born Christopher Peter Meloni) is an American actor who is best known as a star of the well-known TV series 'Law & Order Special Victims Unit. He discovered his love for acting in his early days at school and then pursued acting studies in the University of Colorado at Boulder. He's appeared in the television and film industry, but it was his small-screen characters that brought him fame and an extensive following. The actor has the ability to create characters that reflect both the bad and good aspects in the law enforcement system. He is able attract the attention of his audience easily. He played the role of a serial killer in the first TV show he appeared in and later played the role an NYPD detective. The small screen performances of his were rewarded with numerous Emmy Awards nominations and PRISM Awards. He is known for his blue piercing eyes, which have turned into a signature and helped create a charismatic character for tough roles. The actor was featured on People's list of Sexiest Men Alive in 2006.
