Scars to Your Beautiful is one of five original tracks to make it onto the charts of Billboard. Cara's music has been praised for its messages of kindness in self-love, and mental wellbeing. The inspiration for her music is her own personal experience as she had to deal with issues of mental health and insomnia. According to a Reuters Interview, her album is described as turbulent and yet perfectly crafted. She found growth through therapy and she encourages others to seek assistance if needed. Alessia Cara was born to Italian parents on the 11th of July 1996. She received a guitar from her parents at the age of was 10 years old and it ignited her enthusiasm for music. After three years, at the age of 13, she began covering her favorite songs through YouTube which is a huge media platform in order to demonstrate to the world that she possessed the talent skills as well as the courage to make it a singer. The cover of Sweater Weather ended up getting her attention by a record company called EP Entertainment which allowed her to write and compose music for her.
